Jenny Kien was born in 1948 and immigrated to Israel in 1994. She now lives in Tel Aviv, where she has had several solo exhibitions as well as participating in group exhibitions in Israel and in Europe. “I paint people in all their variety,based on photographs I take in and around Tel Aviv. Using acrylic, I show the uniqueness of each human being, the range of feelings and relationships, togetherness versus aloneness, tension versus quiet. My figures show how each person carries a whole world within themselves and how one moment of interaction can reveal connection or disconnection between people. Ye, I leave the interpretation to viewers, allowing them to discover their connection to the figures in the paintings and to enter the worlds of others in all situations in life - to get to know them, to feel them and be touched.”
