Eunice Figueiredo

Eunice Figueiredo

Born in Recife, Brazil. Architect graduated by the UFP, Recife, continued studies at the Technion, Haifa. Living in Israel, my work deals with the preservation /renovation of the world cultural patrimony of Israel: layers of different civilizations that left imprinted their visions in the stone. Cities buried under the earth, are re-discovered and their cultural Images, revealed. Important projects: Damascus Gate, Old City of Jerusalem- The Benedictin Monastery in Abu Gosh- Restoration of the Old Market , Nazareth.
As an artist, I look for the layers of mind and the soul’s experience written in the bones ’rock: thoughts and feelings that take form reflecting a synthesis of memories and imagination. Painting becomes a repository of this dialogue, unfolding the continuous mystery of being mirrored in myself. Important exhibitions: “JaffOlinda” (2004), TA - “Written in Stone” (2006),Kahal Zur Israel, Recife- “African Diaspora in Brazil” (2015) Gateway Art Gallery,New York –“ Shoah, Tekumah” (2018) Artists House, Haifa.
